Performance Program 2025
What was lost is found again, for no one can deny THE DREAM!
Following its postponement at the end of 2024, Scintilla Performance is proud to present THE DREAM in April, 2025!
“The dream is a sound. The sound is a song. The song is the dream.
This tale is the sound of a lover’s heart breaking.
This tale is the song of the home you have lost.
This tale is the dream we all have upon waking - the dream of a thread,
and the hope strung between…”
Welcome to THE DREAM... ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Beyond the hills of Athens, where Gods and monsters roam, stands the ancient Forest of Dream: A place, so legend tells, where Hypnos once laid his head and dreamed of fair Morpheus, and the heart's most fond desire may take form in the waking world - for desire is such stuff as dreams are made of...
To this strange, accursed place comes the brave young Hero, in search of their missing mother; a fair beauty of Athens, who, once upon a time, found herself within these same enchanted woods on a half-forgotten midsummer's night. Though the Dream Forest is forbidden to mortals, the capricious Gods of Olympus grant the child entry, certain either that their cause is worthy and true, or else that the fierce monsters that dwell there will carry them into the realm of Dream, and under the Forest's power.
But the young Hero has more than wits and courage on their side. For unbeknownst to both Gods and monsters, their destiny is tangled in the threads of the past - bound in a knot tied between two doomed lovers, and the Lords of Sky and Sea and Stone.
And the wheel of fate has started to spin…
Figures of Greek myth collide with the works of Shakespeare in this immersive, fantastical new adventure of lost love and fickle fate. A tale of a midsummer night's dream - and what happened after - brought to life with masks, movement, and puppetry.

COVID-SAFE ACTION PLAN
The Scintilla community is made up of a diverse range of people, including those with underlying health conditions, and all of our community members are entitled to enjoy our workshops, programs, and performances without fear for their personal health and safety. In the absence of State or Federal health mandates to support the suppression of disease transmission or to limit COVID-positive people circulating within the wider community, it is the responsibility of organisations and individuals to ensure the health and safety of our facilitators, participants, and audiences.
Scintilla Performance acknowledges that COVID presents an ongoing challenge to the safety of both performers and audiences. Activities such as live performance, including theatre, singing, and dancing, prohibits the use of the most effective mitigation measures of airborne pathogen prevention; as such, it carries an inherent, unavoidable risk of being infected with COVID or other respiratory illnesses.
To assist in reducing risk to the health of our performers and audience members, we ask that performance attendees:
Conduct a surveillance test using a RAT prior to arriving at the performance venue; or, if they do not have access to a RAT, avail themselves of a complimentary test upon arrival at the venue.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of communicable illness (including cough, runny nose, headache, body aches, or gastric upset), please do not attend the performance, regardless of whether you are negative on a RAT. If you are unable to attend a performance due to illness of any kind, you will be entitled to a full refund of your ticket price (minus transaction fees taken by TryBooking).
Wear a well-fitted N95 respirator mask while in the performance venue foyer, bar, and performance space. N95 respirators will be available to collect from the foyer at no charge to all performance attendees.
You can read our full COVID Action Plan, which outlines our strategies for keeping our performers and audiences as safe as possible from COVID (and other communicable diseases) here.
